The United Methodist Child Care Center has been in operation since 1972, brought to life by our Director Emeritus, Carol Hammer. The Center is located on the first floor of the Christian Life Center of the United Methodist Church of Gales Ferry, located on thirty-three wooded acres. We are a non-profit center and offer a secular curriculum based on the Connecticut Framework.

We began as a preschool and over the years have grown to also offer childcare for children six weeks through five years old. We also offer morning and full-day preschool classes during the school year. Families have the option of sending their child three, four, or five days depending on availability.  

All staff are CPR and First Aid Certified and we are a nut free facility. There is bus transportation to/from Gales Ferry School and Juliet W. Long school.

Preschool is a place where children begin to develop relationships and become a part of a larger community. The United Methodist Child Care Center uses a developmentally appropriate curriculum which provides opportunities for children to explore, create, and learn. We are committed to helping parents balance work and family responsibilities, by providing a safe nurturing extension of their home.
